Vivian is the Vice-President for KPI Latino, the first Hispanic Marketing Agency and Spanish Media Production Firm in
the State of Alabama. As a bilingual media professional, she oversees the development of Hispanic marketing campaigns
for corporate clients and the creation of content for Spanish radio and TV programming. She assists the production
team with "Hola Alabama", and "Hola Amigos," and manages the design and development of English and Spanish Language
Programs for KPI Latino's Academia.
She is fluent in English, Spanish, and Portuguese, and has over 10 years of translation and language teaching
experience in Brazil, Spain, and the U.S.. As a communication professional and interpreter, she has developed several
long-term projects and provided services for national and international companies, such as BASF, General Motors,
AT&T, Ford, Volkswagen, Wal-Mart Mexico, Cingular and Alabama Power.
In Alabama since 2000, Vivian has worked as a Program Coordinator for ALAS and for the Birmingham Pledge Foundation,
and as a Spanish instructor at UAB and Samford Universities' Language Departments. She has been the co-host of
"Hola Alabama" and "Hola Amigos," the first bilingual (Spanish/English) educational radio and TV programs in
Alabama since 2003. Currently, she is a Board Member for the Birmingham Regional Chamber of Commerce's Hispanic
Business Council (HBC), the Alabama Latin American Association (ALAS), and the Hispanic Outreach Committee with the
Boy Scouts of America.
Vivian worked for over 2 years as Assistant Public Information Officer and Hispanic Liaison for the City of Birmingham's
Mayors Office. In that position, she advised Mayor Bernard Kincaid on Hispanic issues, represented the Mayor and the
City in meeting and events, edited and designed official city documents and publications, coordinated public and media
relations for the Mayor and staff, and served as bilingual public information liaison for the Jefferson County Emergency
Management Agency.
Some of the City of Birmingham projects she has overseen include the translation of the City's website into Spanish,
the creation of the first Bilingual Neighborhood Watch Program-Citizen's Police and Fire Academies in the state,
and the establishment of collaboration among City Departments and Hispanic organizations for citywide events and
campaigns.
